Salem is the Marion County seat with the Marion County Circuit Court, and is one of Oregon's oldest cities and is the state capitol.
Marion County contains numerous idyllic Oregon state natural treasures like Silver Falls State Park, Silverton where the Oregon Gardens are a fantastic destination, as well as the nearby town of Mount Angel.
Marion County contains main charms and is gateway from the valley to the Cascades and is very close to the towns on the Oregon Coast as well. The access up into the Cascades provides wild forest access and recreation with wonderful places like Detroit Lake State Park and the historic town of Detroit, Keizer where the closest In and Out Burgers can be found relative to the Portland Metro as well as more of Oregon's premiere destination treasures like a large Iris festival.
